Maybe Arts & Crafts In House But Dont Forget Garden

I’m pretty sure that when the words Interiors and Design get mentioned in the same sentence, the ideas of fancy  new modernity comes crashing in to our minds.  We are so programmed to think of stark new streamlined walls, stripped of all character and individuality when a house is being renovated – it’s impossible to imagine a house being given the interior designer treatment and retaining the outstanding features from an Arts & Crafts building from the early 1920s.  Yet many families want exactly that, the fine lines and beauty without heavy fussiness.  There’s aheritage house in the bigest town near my home, and it proudly displays their large collection of Arts & Crafts inspired designs and ideas, in a modern setting.  So the beauty of the design with the convenience of a modern setting.  Clean unclutered lines without the sentimentality of hierarchy and Mumsyness!   Gardens are also added to the design brief – no good having an Arts & Crafts houe, with magazines pubicicisig the fact, if the anciliary subjects like the garden are left in a post modernist state
